A conviction, since 2000: leadership can be taught — and it must be taught alongside practical skill.
Founded in 2000, the Institute of Advanced Leadership Uganda emerged from a vision to transform leadership across East Africa. Our founders recognised the critical need for leaders who could address the complex challenges facing our region.
Over the past two and a half decades we have grown from a small training centre into a comprehensive educational institution, serving students from Uganda, Rwanda, DR Congo and South Sudan. Our integrated approach combines leadership training with a core educational curriculum, so that every graduate leaves with both character and competence.
Today we are proud to have graduated more than 5,000 leaders making significant contributions to their communities, organisations and countries.

IAL Uganda is governed by a five-member Board of Directors with more than thirty-five combined years of industry and educational experience, and run by a team of around twenty full-time staff supported by associate lecturers and a network of professional consultants drawn from government, business and civil society.

We are located at Plot 1064, Ggaba Road, Nsambya. Our campus offers spacious lecture rooms, a stocked digital library, modern computer facilities and free WiFi for self-directed learning.
